About Syntropic Initiative
Syntropic Initiative is a rapidly-growing, student-run organization aiming to make high-level VEX robotics accessible to everyone, by breaking down systemic, financial, and knowledge barriers. To empower the next generation of engineers, we donate parts to local teams that actively support girl-powered programs, provide introductory classes and mentorship to middle school students and new teams, and offer access to resources such as shared CNC machines.

Syntropic Initiative provides immersive internship opportunities for students entering competitive VEX robotics. Our programs provide hands-on experience enabling interns to acquire knowledge and skills rapidly and preparing them to become the team leaders of tomorrow.

Syntropic Initiative mentors provide on-site technical guidance to local teams, fostering team growth and success with expert advice. Syntropic Initiative holds introductory classes at local middle schools, preparing students for a competitive high school robotics experience.

Historically, small VEX teams have limited resources to purchase parts for robots, and lack access to expensive tools such as CNCs and laser cutters. Syntropic Initiative bridges this gap by donating parts and purchasing CNCs that are available for shared local team use.

How does Syntropic Initiative divide up funds from sponsorships and grants?
Syntropic Initiative will utilize 30% of funds to empower local teams. About 21% of funds will be used for parts donation and grants for local teams and the other 9% will be used to purchase advanced machinery available for local team use. The other 70% of funds will be spent on parts and event organization for Syntropic Initiative's internship and mentorship programs that directly support the next generation of STEM leaders.

How does Syntropic Initiative recognize its sponsors and donors?
Recognition of sponsors and donors will be put on the Syntropic Initiative website, on Syntropic Initiative outreach materials such as flyers and brochures, as well as in the engineering notebooks and on the robots of teams funded by the program. In-depth sponsorship packages can be found on the sponsorship page. Syntropic Initiative is always willing to discuss additional recognition options.

Local Tri-Valley Bay Area teams can email Syntropic Initiative at syntropicinitiative@gmail.com and request to become part of the program. Syntropic Initiative will reach out to more local teams inviting them to become partners as funding grows.

What mentorship programs does Syntropic Initiative plan to run?
Syntropic Initiative intends on running introductory VEX robotics classes at local middle schools such as Wells Middle School and possibly Fallon Middle School to prepare students for a competitive high school robotics experience. These classes will focus on the basics of building, programming, and CADing. Syntropic Initiative will provide the parts and electronics necessary to make the experience as immersive and hands-on as possible.

"Syntropic" refers to a system that increases in order and complexity. This is what Syntropic Initiative hopes to create: a rapidly growing impact on teams across the Tri-Valley area, eventually taking root throughout the entirety of the Bay, coupled with immersive programs that allow newcomers to quickly gain skills.
